PERIDOT Research Program Call for Research Proposals Phase-11

PERIDOT is the Franco-Pakistani Hubert Curien Partnership (PHC) Program providing opportunities to Pakistani and French researchers to interact for joint research activities. The program is implemented in Pakistan by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and in France, jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Development (MAEDI) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESRI).
Priority Thematic Areas:
- Sustainable Energy, Environment and Climate change
- Agriculture, Food Security and Health
- Entrepreneurship, Humanities & Social Sciences
Note: Projects on social challenges of environmental issues shall be strongly encouraged
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant (PI) must be a regular faculty member (PhD or FCPS/MCPS/FRCS) of the Higher Education Institutions (public and private) or hold a contract equivalent to the length of project duration
- The major cost of the main research project will be borne by the participating universities from Pakistan and France.
- The program will support only mobility of the researchers to and from Pakistan.
- Mobility of young researchers, especially doctoral students (enrolled under supervision by the PI) is one of the key objectives.
- The host institution must guarantee having the needed capacities (e.g. working space) to accommodate the visiting fellows
- Project life can be maximum for 03 years.
Note: Maximum one research project can be submitted by one principal investigator for funding

Introduction
The NRPU grant awards will be made to the host higher education institution of the lead academic – faculty – associated with the project and administered through the appropriate ORIC on campus. Principal Investigator should be a faculty member at higher education institution in Pakistan and encouraged to submit proposals that are collaborative in scope, with teams including junior and senior academic staff, both male and female researchers and appropriate sectoral/ industrial collaborators.
1.Eligibility Criteria
- Be a faculty member (PhD or FCPS/MCPS/FRCS) working on regular/ contract basis (contract duration must not be less than project duration) in the Higher Education Institutions (public or private) of Pakistan
- Can hold only one NRPU grant at a time

With an enhance focus on creating an environment of innovation and research at Sohail University, the blooming NRPU, has greatly helped Sohail University researchers in winning a research grants for “Activation of spermidine/spermine Nl-acetyiltransferas-l (SSAT-l) as a Biomarker in breast and lung cancer” from NRPU (HEC Funded).
- In year 2022 Sohail University received the highest ever research funding amounting to Rs. 7078050/- (Seven Million Seventy-Eight Thousand Fifty) covering 01 Projects, this research projects will be completed in the allocated time frame of 36 to 60 months under the supervision of Dr. Rubina Ghani, Dr. Shaista Emad, and Dr Ghulam Haider from Sohail University. It is envisaged that these research projects will help in achieving the solution of control clinical trials of breast cancer.
